Do you want to become more prepared, so you can help your family and even your community during a disaster?
Several local groups have come together to host basic Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training. The West Seneca Office of Disaster Preparedness, the Town of Elma Office of Emergency Management, and EMPact America are sponsoring this training, which is free and open to all residents in WNY (14 years and up).
The same course is offered in five* sessions with different day/time slots to accommodate different schedules.
Session 1 - Weekday Evening Classes (Tuesday and Thursday) ran from January 24 through February 9, from 7 PM to 9 PM, a total of six 2-hour sessions. THIS CLASS IS ALREADY COMPLETED.
Session 3 - Saturday Classes ran from Saturday, February 18 through Saturday, March 3 from 9 AM to 1:30 PM, a total of three 4½-hour sessions (including a ½-hour break). THIS CLASS IS ALREADY COMPLETED.
Session 4 - Thursday Late-Afternoon Classes are being held on Thursdays only from March 8 through April 12 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, a total of six 2-hour sessions. Class dates are: 3/08, 3/15, 3/22, 4/05, and 4/12. This class meets once a week, spread over 6 weeks. THIS CLASS IS IN PROGRESS.
Session 5 - Thursday Night Classes are being held Thursdays only from March 8 through April 12 from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM, a total of six 2-hour sessions. Class dates are: 3/08, 3/15, 3/22, 4/05, and 4/12. This class meets once a week, spread over 6 weeks.
Location: Classes are being held at the Jamison Business Park main cafeteria, 611 Jamison Road, Elma, New York.
