EMP Threat to Nation’s Grid Makes 2016 GOP Platform

For the first time in history, Electromagnetic Pulse has been included in any major political party’s platform. The GOP platform included the threat during their 2016 Presidential nominating convention in Cleveland, Ohio. The Republican Platform is a statement detailing important issues of the national party, which acts as a list of important principles and beliefs that guide the members, as well as the elected officials. Every four years, at the Republican and Democratic National Conventions, delegates gather to update the Platform to address the current challenges we face as a nation. We are hopeful that the Democratic Convention will also include this critical threat in their platform to make EMP a truly non-partisian issue in this years election.

Cost analysis should not be a primary consideration! Inasmuch as this is a strategic defense issue, the federal government should support the cost.
