Best Place to buy emergency food rations

I want to invest in 6 months to a years worth of food stores for my family. What is the best types of foods to invest in with the longest shelf life and ease of storage? I'm struggling with all of the choices and opinions over dried verses canned. I think maybe a mix of both - dried has an appeal in case you have to pack a bunch up and flee the city.

Where can I find good honest reviews of online sources or do it yourself provisions?

"Eat what you store and store what you eat" is one of the more famous food storage quotes. If you don't eat spam don't buy it. Do some research on different forums about food storage and you will be surprised how easy it is.
