On June 9th, a terrorist attack on Yemen’s power grid caused a nation-wide blackout. It marks the first time an entire nation lost power as the result of an attack.
While news of Yemen’s blackout has been largely unreported in the United States, it should act as a wakeup call to strengthen our own vulnerable power grid. The culprits of the attack on Yemen, Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), have expressed a desire to attack the West, with a special emphasis on America.
